A few items I wanted to highlight today:

Sam Hall responds to Mark O’Brien’s charter criticisms. Pensacola City Councilman Sam Hall has posted a line-by-line response to PNJ columnist Mark O’Brien’s recent criticisms of the City’s proposed charter revisions. Councilman Hall reiterates some of his own criticisms, saying that the charter has “serious flaws,” but counters some of Mr. O’Brien’s complaints.

Kottkamp files for AG

Florida Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp is — inexplicably — running for Florida Attorney General.

Mr. Kottkamp came under heavy criticism earlier this year when it was revealed that he had spent $425,000 of taxpayer money using state planes to travel back and forth between Tallahassee and his home in Fort Myers, and even to take his family on a vacation in St. Augustine. He had a Florida Highway Patrol trooper drive him and his wife to Atlanta, Georgia to attend a birthday party.
