Carver/Century School to close

NorthEscambia.com is reporting that Superintendent of Schools Malcolm Thomas will recommend to the Escambia County School Board that the Carver/Century K-8 school be closed, and that its students be redistricted to other schools.

The Pensacola News Journal adds that Thomas met with school faculty and staff as well as Century community leaders this morning to inform them of his decision. Students are expected to be redistricted to Bratt Elementary and Ernest Ward Middle Schools, 15 and 17 miles away, respectively…
