Soups, salads, and sandwiches joint Simply Delicious shut its doors today. Its six employees were let go and the owner intends to put the building up for sale.
Rumours are abound about the impending closures of several other well-known Pensacola establishments, but I won’t name names until I can confirm.
Although it’s disappointing to see another closure, there are a few openings to report…
Another restaurant closing: Eat! on Palafox shut its doors last night. As with Varona’s, it wasn’t really a place I frequented, but it was a nice enough place. It wasn’t really the same after the departure of Chef Lee Lucier, though, and it couldn’t weather this recession.

It wasn’t my type of place, but it’s a real shame to see another local business venture fail. The building, which was completely renovated prior to Varona’s opening, looked terrific and the place had a signature style. There just isn’t anything else like it [...]
