Proposed CRA Plan unveiled tonight
A public meeting will be held tonight to unveil the proposed comprehensive update to the CRA Plan.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 PM in the Hagler/Mason Conference Room, second floor, City Hall. It will also be streamed online at the City web site.
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is a taxing district which covers the area south of Cervantes Street between A Street and 17th Avenue. It is tasked with eliminating blight and stimulating investment. In March of this year, CRA staff began the process for a comprehensive update to the CRA Plan, the first such comprehensive update since 1989. The CRA retained consulting firm Looney Ricks Kiss (LRK) to help develop the plan.
The proposed plan update contains many items which would involve substantial changes the downtown/CRA area as we know it.
Embedded below is the presentation of Volume I of the proposed CRA Plan update. Volume I provides background information about the Agency and the Urban Core Community Redevelopment Area and Plan; outlines the strategic framework, themes and principles; provides a market and physical assessment of the Redevelopment Area in the year 2009; and illustrates the vision and recommendations of the Plan.
Embedded below is the presentation of Volume II of the proposed CRA Plan update. Volume II presents the recommended implementation strategies, phasing and priority capital projects to achieve the CRA vision established in Volume I. Volume II functions in reference to Volume I and together they comprise the complete CRA Plan. Volume II is intended to be able to be used as a stand-alone document that can be referenced for implementation strategies, priorities and schedules. This Volume also addresses non-capital programs and activities that support or may be necessary to implement the capital projects.
