A few items I wanted to highlight today:

Pensacola News Journal:
Escambia fuel tax fails”

The Escambia County Commission last night declined to pass a proposed three-cent increase to the gas tax, which would have provided a dedicated founding source for Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT). The tax increase required a supermajority (4 of 5 commissioners) but lost on a 3-2 vote, with Commissioners Wilson Robertson and Kevin White opposing the increase.

Rick’s Blog:
“Crist visits Pensacola”

Rick Outzen recaps a fundraiser held in Pensacola last night for Florida Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Charlie Crist.

Sam Hall:
“To tree or not to tree” and “Certainty”

Pensacola City Councilman Sam Hall discusses the proposed tree ordinance, which Council debated in a special workshop earlier this week.
