It’s official: Crist in Senate race

Florida Governor Charlie Crist announced this morning he will not run for reelection as governor and instead will run for Florida’s open U.S. Senate seat. Minutes after his announcement, the National Republican Senatorial Committee endorsed his candidacy, which is another sort-of kick in the knees for the other Republican candidate, former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio… not to mention, as others have pointed out, that Governor Crist’s announcement has gotten three straight days of intensive statewide and national media coverage while Mr. Rubio’s got one day of meager statewide coverage.
