A few area posts I want to highlight today:

Troy Moon: “Thou shalt sin no more, say Holy 3″

The PNJ‘s Troy Moon offers up some cute news commentary on the recent decision by the Escambia County Commission to not allow poker at the greyhound track:

A Moral Majority of elders from The First Church of the Hardened Heart of the Escambia County Commission A.M.E. issued a decree Thursday condemning all those who wish to play cards at the Pensacola Greyhound Track to eternal damnation. In other words, they’ll have to remain in Escambia County.

Sam Hall: “Mark O’Brien’s column on the port”

Hall makes a quick, concise on the controversy generated by his decision to skip out on a City Council meeting:

For now, I’ll say little. There was a feint by one side; I advanced; I was flanked; I executed a strategic retreat.

What I don’t understand..If Hall and Wiggins had issues about the lease, why didn’t they ask them instead of getting Wiggin’s sister in law to ask them?

And why didn’t legal staff ask

    or the Port director

Is anybody home for the taxpayers???????

  • Exactly. Why are we paying almost 2 million in legal salaries when they obviously aren’t reading or bothering to offer recommendations to City Council? We have no one looking out to make sure the tax payers get the best deal.
