O’Brien scolds Hall

Mark O’Brien has a post up lambasting Pensacola City Councilman Sam Hall, both for his call for resignations or firings Wednesday of those responsible for the Airport appraisal error and for Hall’s rebuke of Airport Director Miller last night at Council.

The appraisal error, according to Mr. Miller, was due to the fact that the latter appraisals were misfiled, and when it came time to send an appraisal to Sandspur/Mr. MacQueen, Airport staff assumed the first, properly-filed appraisal was the only one.

For those who were not there, Hall aggressively questioned Mr. Miller regarding the appraisal error and eventually characterised Miller’s oversight as “gross negligence” and “unconscionable”.

Oh, Mark O’Brien. You and your alliterative epithets.

  • Note to”Hothead” Hall….

don’t stroll in with the competition at a developer’s private meeting and expect a welcome mat.

  • “Frank”: If it had been a private developer’s meeting, then you would be right. The meeting was scheduled between City staff and myself about City business. As I do with most all of my non-public meetings with staff, in this case, Frank Miller, I bring a District 2 constituent with me.

In this instance, I brought two District 2 businessmen who have probably added as much to District 2’s ad valorem tax base as any two in the last five years. Moreover, they did it without subsidy.
