City responds with pilot recycling program

As I predicted, the City’s followed suit and announced a pilot recycling program for about 400 East Hill homes.  The program will supply an extra 90-gallon container for recyclables, and reduce garbage pickup to once-weekly, replacing the second pickup with one for recyclables.  At current the pilot program plans to do this at no additional cost to City residents.

Unfortunately I don’t live in East Hill anymore!

Meanwhile the City continues discussions with ECUA on the possibility of ECUA taking over sanitation services in the City.  If only I could think of a more emphatic way to say, “NO!”  I don’t want County-quality service.  The City’s sanitation department is probably the best department in City government.
